Following Highway 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, throughout the Scenic Fraser Canyon Tunnels, between Hope, British Columbia, 150km to Vancouver, to the Village of Lytton, located where the Fraser River meets the Thompson River. We follow the Fraser Canyon, one of the most significant waterways in British Columbia. We pass by the former gold rush town of Yale, Boston Bar, and pass by the undergoing construction work near Lytton, after sections of Highway 1 washed away during the 2021 BC Storm.
Highway 1 in the Fraser Canyon was once part of the Cariboo Road during the 1858 Gold Rush, then was upgraded in the 1920s, before the tunnels opened (and the Alexandra Bridge) in the 1960s, when upgrades along Highway 1 were made ahead of designation of the Trans-Canada Highway.
