🏆 NCEL PLAY-OFF FINAL DRAMA! WOMBWELL TOWN PROMOTED! 🏆

History was made at Wombwell Town as they hosted Dearne & District in a massive Northern Counties East League Division One Play-Off Final – with a place in the NCEL Premier Division on the line!

Before kick-off, I spoke with Wombwell Secretary Alan about the club’s incredible rise and what promotion would mean for the town. I also caught up with Dearne & Wombwell chairmen Tony and Carl, who shared mutual respect and the excitement for the occasion.

The atmosphere was electric, with a packed-out crowd and fans from both sides in full voice – even pyros on the pitch after Jordan Kershaw opened the scoring for Wombwell early on! 🔥

⚽ Wombwell doubled their lead through Ollie Fearon, before Dearne pulled one back to make it 2-1 at half-time.
⚽ Fearon struck again after the break to make it 3-1, with Dearne reduced to 10 men shortly after.
⚽ Dearne grabbed a late goal, but Wombwell held firm and secured a famous 3-2 win to achieve promotion to the NCEL Premier Division for the first time ever!
