Aye Ma Jiyo Mero Laal in Raag Shyam Kalyan is a traditional composition from the Agra Atrauli gharana and is set to Teentaal. Shyam Kalyan- a raag that has a unique serenity to it but can still sound upbeat with the right kind of composition and laya (speed) of execution. It is from the 'Kalyan' thaat and is sung in the late evening time and hence part of the the name (Shyam = evening time in Hindi).
