The silence in this room is louder than the truth you told.
A masterpiece of lies, a story bought and sold.
I'm tracing cracks upon the ceiling with my tired eyes,
Mapping out the distance between your "love" and goodbyes.
And this glass of bitter red tastes sweet compared to you,
A hollow celebration for a love I never knew.
You lit a match inside my soul, then called the fire a sin!
Traded my devotion for a cheap, convenient grin.
Well, baby, now the smoke is clearing from my blinded sight,
And in the ashy aftermath, I'm burning twice as bright!

I packed your ghost in cardboard boxes, labeled them "The Past",
But some old photographs and habits always seem to last.
I find your favorite sweater hiding in a drawer,
A relic from a war I never meant to fight, and lost for sure.
But the fabric smells of nothing now, just dust and empty air,
A perfect metaphor for how little you left there.
Did you think I'd break? Just shatter into pieces on the floor?
A pretty, broken porcelain doll you'd never see no more...
