Bridging the Gap | Linleys Garden Railway Developments Autumn 2020 Part 10

I really enjoyed constructing the bridge and although the video covers most of the detail it does not show just how long it took to cut and weld up all the bits and how long it took to cut and fit the decking boards. All good though, and (apart from all the painting – the damp weather is not ideal for painting) I’m really pleased with the way it all came together.

I plan to make up a set of casters on a lifting lever frame so that I can take the bridge away without straining my back. I don’t know how heavy it is, I could check that out, and I can quite easily lift it as it is at the moment but, I think I should plan to have some “contraption” for lifting it and “wheeling” it out of the way when I want to, with ease, and no strain on my back!
