The United States has effectively raised its tariff rate on Chinese imports to 145%, a White House official confirmed. The hike follows President Donald Trump’s latest executive order, which increased duties on a wide range of Chinese goods to 125%, up from the previous 84%. The new rate builds on an existing 20% fentanyl-related tariff imposed earlier as part of the administration’s crackdown on the flow of synthetic opioids from China.
