USCIS Policy announced: August 29, 2025
Effective date (no more paper-based payments): October 28, 2025
Until that date, USCIS will accept both the old (paper-based) and the new (electronic) payment methods. After that date, paper checks, money orders, etc., will generally no longer be accepted unless an approved exemption applies.
What the new payment methods are
Form G-1650 – Authorization for ACH Transactions
For electronic (ACH) debit payments directly from a U.S. bank account.
Must provide routing/account numbers, type of account, etc. Instructions specify how to fill it out correctly.
Form G-1450 – Authorization for Credit Card Transactions
Already in use; continues to be valid for paying by credit card, debit card, or pre-paid card.
