The Uncertain Future of Blackpool Pleasure Beach

In the past, I've covered the dark rides of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, but even before then, it's a park that has fascinated me. It has a really great line-up of attractions like the record breaking Big One, along with very old classic rides like Steeplechase, Big Dipper, Flying Machine and Derby Racer. The park's dark rides, Ghost Train, Alice's Wonderland, Wallace and Gromit's Thrill-O-Matic and of course, Valhalla, are all standouts. Between all of this and other historical and great supplemental attractions, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is one of the best amusement parks I've ever been to. It's a mess, but that's what makes it fun, along with the kitschy tourist traps on the beach. However, the town is struggling financially and with Pleasure Beach itself reporting an operating season loss of £2.7 million, I'm concerned about the future of this park. Today, let's dive into Blackpool Pleasure Beach and see why it's worth saving as one of the world's best amusement parks.
