Solo Everest Base Camp Part 6:Off beat route Namche to Phortse/Pangboche Day 8 9 unique experience

In this video, I take you through the breathtaking experience of my Everest Base Camp solo trek, where I completed the journey without a guide, porter, or Diamox. My route diverged from the classic Everest Base Camp trail, making it a truly unique and challenging experience. Starting from Namche Bazaar (3440 meters), Here, I cover Day 8 and Day 9 of the trek, where I trek from Namche Bazaar to Phortse Thanga (3690 meters) after Sanasa / Mong La , & then from Phortse Thanga to Upper Pangboche (3950 meters).

Highlights of my trek:
Day 8: I began my journey with an ascent from Namche Bazaar towards Mong La, a spot known for its scenic beauty, where I had a lovely lunch at 3950 meters. After Mong La, I descended towards Phortse Thanga, intersection to Gokyo and EBC. The accommodation was at a Phortse Thanga (phone number and menu in the video) guest house cost Rs. 500 for room without plug points /wash basin, but it was an excellent opportunity to experience the local culture. I also got to witness a traditional Tihar festival dance in the evening.

Day 9: On this day, I trekked through one of the most scenic routes of the entire trek. The path took me from Phortse Thanga to Upper Pangboche via Phortse. Phortse is a quaint, scenic village. (check live video of Nov 4 2024 -    • Lesser known village phortse 4000 mtr is s...  ) Along the way, I encountered mountain goats, Brahmaputra trees, birch trees—the bark of which was once used for paper-making & beautiful birds. The DudhKoshi River flowed near the trail, adding to the spectacular surroundings. As I made my way to Upper Pangboche, I had a close encounter with a mountain goat, which added an element of thrill to the trek.

The weather turned cloudy, and snow began to fall just before I reached Upper Pangboche, so I was fortunate to arrive before the heavy snowfall started. I stayed at the Trekker’s Holiday inn (ph numbers in video) at Upper Pangboche, owned by Phutashi Sherpa, mountaineer who has summited Mount Everest multiple times. Key Points of My Journey:
Route Taken: I followed the high trail route, which deviates from the classic EBC trek bypassing Tengboche / Dinghboche. This route offers less crowd, more tranquility, and unique views of the mountains, wildlife, and local culture. The scenic beauty, combined with encounters with birds, animals, and trees, made the trek memorable. Tenghboche & Dinghboche villages can be visited on way down; so you don't miss that landscape too.

Acclimatization: This alternative route also allowed for better acclimatization as the daily elevation gains were moderate. I traveled by road to Salleri before starting the trek. This helped me adjust better to the altitude & reduced the risk of altitude sickness AMS.

Advantages of My Trek:

Less Crowded: The route I chose was not as popular as the classic one
Scenic: I had the privilege of experiencing a variety of landscapes—from dense forests to high-altitude vistas—encountering wildlife and rare flora along the way.
Better Acclimatization: With moderate elevation gain and traveling by road initially, I felt more comfortable
