John and I are back at it in the Sierras. We kicked off this Season as soon as the trailhead opened to Mammoth Pass.
The buses to Reds Meadow weren’t running yet when we hiked this. So, we basically had the entire trail to ourselves.
The creeks and trails were raging with snow melt and the mosquitoes got intense the lower we descended into Cascade Valley.
But the views were sublime. It felt great to be back in the Sierras after breaking my back a year ago. I’m so grateful that I can still backpack.
