NOTICE: Big thanks to the crew and owner of Barn Car Wash for letting me get a tour of their awesome facility, along with a in-bay perspective! Video of it shall be up very soon.
After almost 3 years, multiple delays and rescheduling, the Barn Car Wash on Squire road in Revere has finally reopened! They had some issues with the town with the reopening (they also had the same trouble with the other Revere location) and after almost a 3 year wait, they are now open for business! I thankfully got a video of the old setup that was here before and for anyone who wants to see it, here it is: • DEMOLISHED: Barn Car Wash: Revere Site
Barn Car Wash owns and operates 3 locations. This one on Squire Road, a 2 bay, Mark VII ChoiceWash XT location also in Revere, paired alongside a donut shop and then their Saugus location, which has a exterior tunnel wash and a Mark VII AquaJet XT for their 24/7 touch free automatic.
This place opened up back in 1975 as a deli, called “The Barn deli” but was converted into a car wash in 1990. It is unknown what equipment it used back in the 90’s, but I like to guess it was old Belanger equipment. Then in the mid-late 2000’s, it was upgraded to “newer” Belanger equipment, and a MCWW top brush was put in at a later time, probably in the mid-2010’s. Unlike the Saugus location, which removed their mitters for MCWW top brushes, this location was still using mitters.
This was also the only Barn location (at the time) that had pay stations (besides the AquaJet at the Saugus site), as the tunnel at the Saugus location doesn’t have pay stations, and you give an employee your payment and tell them what service you would like.
This wash also had some other minor updates done to it, which included installed a single Sonny’s round-nozzle dryer for flash drying and a new Dryer Pros Hurricane drying system, replacing old Superior dryers.
After this, the set-up remained the same until they announced that they will be tearing down the old building and wash, and would rebuilt it with an all-new building and wash equipment. They also stated that the equipment would be Belanger’s SpinLite, which is fairly rare here in MA. Demolition started in mid-2021 I believe, and we’re expecting a fall of 2022 reopening date.
But some issues with the town caused the opening date to be pushed back, and it kept getting pushed back as construction on the new wash didn’t start until late-2022. Around this time, they finally opened up their other Revere site after a major delay, and that location has 2 Mark VII ChoiceWash XT machines, alongside a donut shop.
Finally, after almost 3 years, they opened up this location in the spring of 2024! With all new vacuums, pay stations, building and most importantly, all new wash equipment, which is Belanger SpinLite with Sonny’s signage and a 18-producer DryLite drying system, with multiple flipping producers to get the back and a set of SideKicks at the end. All of this along with Simoniz chemistry, put out a great car.
The wash shown in this video was the $24 Works Wash which included:
*Simoniz Ceramic Sealant
*Triple Foam Polish
*Simoniz Hot Wax
*Wheel Cleaner
*Under Wash
*Simoniz Poly Sealant
*SpinLite Wash
*Premium Dry
Wash Quality: 12/10
Comments: the wash did an AMAZING job! We haven’t washed our car in a while and it sat in our driveway for quite some time, and the wash got all the dust, dirt and bird droppings off of the car. The drying quality was very impressive too, as our car was bone dry when pulling out!
