Refining the Running Leger

The running leger, so named because the weight is free to run on the line, offering less resistance to a taking fish, is one of the simplest tackles that you can use. It is also very effective and can be adapted to distance casting quite easily, which gave rise to the ‘up and over leger’. I have always liked the rig but have, over the years, been a bit disappointed in how many times it tangled. Consequently, I set out to make it a little more efficient while also keeping it nice and simple. This is the result.
