Hanging around at Jon Beast's Kentish Town Timebox Club in the late 1980s I got hold of a demo tape by a brilliant singer from the band Picture Book: Lesley Mary Seager (Lesley Ingram). I wanted to do a decent version of the song Cut (known to me as Do You Dream Of Me) which she had written with partner Steve Austin. We had a proper laugh doing this in Cocteau downtime at the MK1 September Sound in North Acton. Lesley sang and I did the guitars, drum machine and production.
There was an intended B side which I prefer to forget about. The video contains pics taken in my shithole flat and some later ones from when September Sound Studio moved to Twickenham. Also Pere Lachaise cemetery.
This track did come out on a US compilation (recently rereleased) called Dr Death's Vol 4, The Marvel's Of Insect Life so if you're old there's a miniscule chance you've heard it before. Another track saved from obscurity by the miracle of YouTube.
You're a star Lesley. X
