Goodman teaching focus is Program Planning and Evaluation, Health Policy, Community Action, and Health Communications. In addition, he was the Associate Program Director for George Washington University’s LGBT Health Policy and Practice from 2013 to 2020.
HSCI 572: Foundations of LGBTQ+ Health
From an LGBTQ+ affirming perspective, this introductory course equips students with an understanding of the historical perspective on the gay rights movement and health care disparities. Students will understand why health outcomes in LGBTQ+ populations are often negatively disparate compared to their heteronormative counterparts. Various societal and theoretical concepts are covered, including political and legal systems that impact LGBTQ+ health.
