Lord, Let Me Begin Today with Gratitude and Love
As the morning light gently peeks through the window, as the first rays of dawn touch the earth, my heart quietly lifts up a prayer to You:
“Lord, let me begin today with gratitude and love.”
A new day begins – a new journey unfolds. No one knows what this day will bring: joy, sorrow, or challenge. Yet if I start this day with a heart full of gratitude and love, then whatever happens, my soul will remain in peace — because I am walking in Your light.

1. Gratitude – for everything is grace
Lord, I thank You for allowing me to see the light of a new day.
I thank You for the breath that fills my lungs, for the song of birds outside my window, for the dew still resting on the leaves.
These simple things remind me that everything I have today flows from Your mercy.
There are times I forget to be grateful —
too busy with work, too worried about the future, too distracted by fleeting things.
But Lord, let me remember that each moment of life is a miracle.
Miracles are not found only in great wonders, but in the small, ordinary blessings —
a smile, a word of encouragement, a meal with loved ones, or the quiet peace within my heart.
Lord, teach me to bow my head in thanksgiving,
for I deserve nothing, yet You keep blessing me without end.
Help me to receive everything — both joy and hardship —
as lessons through which You shape me and help me grow in faith.

2. Love – for to love is to truly live
If gratitude helps me recognize Your grace,
then love makes me a reflection of You in the world.
Lord, let me begin today with a heart that knows how to love —
to love not just in words, but in deeds.
Teach me to speak kindness instead of judgment,
to listen instead of argue,
to forgive instead of holding on to pain.
Let me see others through Your eyes —
eyes that do not condemn or despise,
but are filled with compassion and mercy.
For love is not something distant or impossible,
but a way of living every small moment in grace.
A smile for someone who is sad,
a word of comfort to the weary,
a helping hand for one who has fallen —
these are the ways I can share the love of God.

3. Beginning the day with a peaceful heart
Lord, grant me peace as I step into this new day.
Help me not to be swept away by worries or distractions,
but to trust that everything rests in Your hands.
Remind me that true peace does not come from a perfect life,
but from trusting completely in You.
When I begin with gratitude,
I realize I already have enough.
When I begin with love,
I discover how precious life truly is.
Let me live each moment as a gift from You,
and use that gift to bring joy to others.

4. Morning Prayer
“Lord,

I thank You for life, for light, and for the people I love.

Let me live today to the fullest —
even if work is demanding or life feels heavy —
may my heart still rest in Your peace.
For only when I live with gratitude and love
do I truly live as a child of God.
Lord, let me begin today with gratitude and love.
So that when this day comes to an end — no matter how tiring or difficult it may be —
I can still smile and say:
“Thank You, Lord, for being with me all day long.” Amen.
