Zangla Zangla Zerte by DaShugs Band & Glimpse of Ladakh Zanskar Festival 2021

6th Ladakh Zanskar Festival 2021 : The two day mega “6th annual Ladakh Zanskar Festival” which was jointly organised by Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture & Language (Kargil), Office of Deputy Commissioner / CEO Kargil and Flowering Dharma at Padum, Zanskar concluded today on 16th Sep 2021. The event was supported by Administration of UT Ladakh (Kargil) and Ladakh Autonomous Hills Development Council- Kargil.

The two event was celebrated as a part of celebration of 75th year of India’s Independence “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The event was graced by Shri. Feroz Ahmed Khan, C.E.C/Chairman, LAHDC-Kargil, Shri Santosh Sukhdave (IAS), District Commissioner/ C.E.O, Kargil, Er. Phunchok Tashi, Executive Councilor & Shri. Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Administration of UT Ladakh and other important government officials and dignitaries.

The festival showcased the colorful culture of Zanskar and different government departments assisted in making this event a success. During the two days of event the crowd gathered in thousands including locals and tourist, to witness the colorful performances by more than 200 artists from all over Ladakh and the neighboring state of Himachal Pradesh.

The event also saw display of different facets of Zanskari life including handicraft, handloom, food & organic farming by different Government departments, Village Self-help group, Ama Tsogpa (Women Alliance), Doksa alliance, youth associations and groups. Government departments and banks also put up their stalls to inform the general population and the aspiring entrepreneurs about different government schemes. Traditional archery exhibition matches, traditional horse races, and yak riding were also parallelly organized during the occasion. #ladakhzanskarfestival #ladakh #festival #zanskar
