A coulple of months ago, I made my way out to Williamtown on a cold Monday morning, on a day off to try and catch the weird high floor 138 bus that I would often see on my way to work if I left home later. Fortunately, it paid off and I managed to catch it. Despite it's unique appeal, the journey is not for the faint-hearted as for most of the trip (which is skipped), I had earphones in to drown out the deafening roar of schoolkids.
Seriously, if you want to catch a high floor Hunter Valley Buses vehicle, wait for a weekend rail replacement. You'll thank me later. Fortunately, once we reached town, the bus quietened out and I managed to sneak in a quick review before terminating at Newcastle Interchange.
