Xagħra eBike Tour | Festa Eve, Ġgantija & Ramla Bay (Gozo, Malta)

Xagħra at festa time! 🇲🇹

This eBike tour is my first ride back after a PE diagnosis, so I kept it smooth and focused on storytelling (plus, I've always wanted to showcase my hometown, Xagħra ). We roll in from Triq is-Sellum past the plague-era niche and cemetery ridge, loop through Pjazza Vittorja beneath the Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady, then thread the village core in full festa dress. From there it’s Xagħra’s greatest hits: the Ġgantija Temples (UNESCO), Ta’ Kola Windmill, the Toy Museum, Sette Giugno memorial, and a quick park stop with the Christ the Redeemer statue.

Out toward the valleys and coast we visit Calypso Cave belvedere, the abandoned Ulysses Lodge above Ramla Bay, the Our Lady of Hope shrine on the sands, and the wild lanes of Wied Għajn Watar. I also pass lesser-known corners—Għar ta’ Għejżu rock shelter, St Anthony Abbot (first parish site), Knisja Nazzarenu, Ta’ Ħamet chapel (technically in Xewkija, but a regular site for villagers returning back to Xagħra), Santa Verna megaliths, Sansuna’s Rock, and more.

There’s no voiceover—just on-screen captions with bite-size facts so you can watch the road and learn the stories. If you’re planning a Malta/Gozo trip (or you’re local and want to see Xagħra with fresh eyes), save this for your itinerary.
