2014 Dodge Avenger Water Pump INSTALL Part 3 (Episode #38)

I Torque the bolts that fasten the water pump to the 2.4L Dual VVT Engine on my 2014 Dodge Avenger. The Water Pump - Mopar (68046026AA) is what I installed. This Water Pump is also used on the following vehicles equipped with the 2.4L L4 Engine, the 2.0L L4 Engine and the 1.8L L4 Engine (Note L4 means inline 4 cylinder) : Jeep Renegade, Dodge Journey, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Compass, RAM ProMaster City, Chrysler 200, Fiat 500X, Jeep Patriot, Dodge Dart, Dodge Caliber, Chrysler Sebring. Please check the table below for exact fitment. Sorry I had to cut the table short at years 2008 to 2007 because it's too big to fit in the description. I'll put the remainder of the table in one of the other videos in this series. Please see the Descriptions in Part 1 (table years 2021 - 2016), Part 2 (table years 2015 - 2009) and Part 3 (table years 2008 - 2007) of this series for the complete fitment table. Always double check part numbers.

At 2:03 and 3:30 the reason for my nervousness is that there is a steel bolt going into aluminum threads and there is a high risk that the threads could strip. If the bolt is under-torqued there is a risk that it will loosen over time and cause a leak. However, if the bolt is over-torqued there is a risk that the aluminum threads will be stripped. So, it's necessary to get the torque exact. Note I did NOT use any blue thread locker & I did NOT use any RTV gasket sealer. Everything sealed properly & there were NO leaks.
