Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached a critical point. Many are asking: Has Pakistan surrendered to Afghan pressure? Why did Pakistan reopen the trade corridor despite rising hostility? In this video, we break down the complete situation as it developed after November 11.
Afghanistan requires nearly 7.5 to 8 million metric tons of wheat every year, but its own production only covers half of that. For decades, Afghanistan relied heavily on Pakistan for wheat, medicines, cooking oil, pulses, and other essentials. But with the borders at Torkham and Chaman closed, Afghan wheat imports from Pakistan have stopped—creating a major food crisis inside Afghanistan.
Now Afghanistan claims it is importing wheat from Russia, Tajikistan, and other Central Asian states, but transportation costs make these goods unaffordable for the common Afghan citizen. Meanwhile, Pakistan previously supplied over 480,000 metric tons of wheat in 2023–24 alone.
This video explains:
• Why Afghanistan suddenly turned away from Pakistani wheat
• How Pakistan’s border closure triggered shortages inside Afghanistan
• Whether the Taliban regime will choose Pakistan or continue supporting TTP
• How India and other regional players are influencing the crisis
• What Pakistan’s next move could be — strict action or negotiation?
Watch the full analysis to understand the rising pressure, shifting alliances, and the economic realities behind the Pakistan–Afghanistan conflict.
