Part of the Level II Skills series of instructional videos. The focus will be on the tools needed to hand forge a scroll, specifically the Scrolling Wrench and Scrolling Tongs.
Victoria Ritter (CBA III Instructor) will present the Scrolling Wrench which can be used for any bending work (think square corners) as well as for scrolls. The wrench can be forged to whatever size needed, with the most typically used sizes being discussed, along with the forging methods used.
Dennis Dusek (CBA Instructor) will present the Scrolling Tongs. The tongs will be forged using the power hammer with explanations of the tooling used in the presentation. The steps to forging a set of scrolling tongs are the same whether you hand-hammer or use power assist. The power hammer tooling that is shown is particularly applicable to making a number of tongs.
Both presentations fulfill the CBA level II curriculum requirements.
