It’s Saturday evening, April 12, 2025, at the Metra Milwaukee District West Bensenville, Illinois station.
We watch the Canadian Pacifier Kansas City Railroad MMX, the Midwest Mexico Express, train number 180 pass by, headed from their Bensenville yard to Monterrey and San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
This train and its opposite number, the Mexico Midwest Express, train number 181, are the hottest trains on the entire CPKC Railroad system in Canada, America and Mexico!
And did you notice, the second locomotive was an EMD La Grange, Illinois plant SD70ACe unit still in Kansas City Southern Railway livery!
Today’s consist did not include a healthy cut of auto racks whereas upon my previous encounter with this train it did. Could the new tariffs be the culprit?
