Dr. Mohan Subramaniam is Professor of Strategy and Digital Transformation at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. His current research focuses on the Digital Transformation of Incumbent Industrial firms and new sources of Competitive Advantage in the Digital Age. His work articulates how traditional firms, long accustomed to competing within familiar industry structures, find new sources of value and growth within emerging digital ecosystems.

Dr. Subramaniam’s research has won awards from the Strategic Management Society, McKinsey Corporation, Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, and the Decision Sciences Institute. His research has also received grants from the National Science Foundation and the Carnegie Bosch Institute. He has published his work in multiple leading academic journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, the Academy of Management Journal, and the Journal of International Business Studies. He has written several articles for the Harvard Business Review and the MIT Sloan Management Review. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of MIT Sloan Management Review.
