My 2nd attempt at building a "Long Langstroth" beehive. My main reason for building this is so I can move my biggest, strongest hive into this and use it as a "comb builder" so I have a ready supply of built out frames for other hives (cut outs and swarm captures).
Edit: the sad news is that this thing was a waste of time and money. The bees did not do very well in it, and the hive did not last more than a year and a half (moisture issues - when none of my 25+ langstroth hives ever had moisture issues). The bees were moved to a regular hive (where they have since thrived), and the hive was tossed in the bonfire pile.
