During the mining boom on Tasmania's West Coast, many a narrow gauge railway or tramway weaved through the hills to reach isolated communities and mineral loads. One such line was the North Mount Farrell Tramway to Tullah, and until 1964, was the village's only link to the outside world. Today, the Wee Georgie Wood Steam Railway runs over a short section of the tramway, using the namesake locomotive, which has become a Tasmanian icon. This footage is from the 10th January 2026, when it was cold and wet. However, this allowed Wee Georgie Wood to run without any need for spark arrestors or a fire train, so enjoy lineside and on board footage of a unique part of Tasmanian history. for more information, visit http://www.weegeorgiewood.com.au/
