This is a repair of a Synology RS2416RP+ 12 bay Network attached storage that I had purchased recently with a CPU/ motherboard problem
The problem that these specific machines have is that the silicon in the CPU chip (Intel Atom C2538) was of a lower quality and it would degrade after some time and extended high temperatures, causing the internal clock to no longer receive a signal, which would cause the system to not start and stay in a constant state of hibernation, putting a 100ohm resistor onto pins 1 and 6 of the 12 pin connector on the motherboard (minus the pins) next to the power connector will re-enable the clock signal to get to the CPU to start the machine... in the third section of this video, I forgot to mention (And do) that you need to hold the reset button in when powering up the NAS for the first time after putting the resistor in (There was also a small amount of solder that made a bridge between two of the terminals, causing a minor short, which I corrected)
