To the west side of Osaka Castle theres the Nishinomaru Garden where people often come to enjoy hanami (cherry blossom viewing) during the spring. At certain times throughout the year beautiful illuminations are also held. They seem to follow a certain theme; with some randos here and there lol. The one I went to showed me both the past and present of Osaka City! If you want to experience the lights without a crowd of people make sure to come 1-2 hours before closing.
