MK47 MOD0 Striker automatic grenade launcher, prototyped as "Striker" (Striker) or CG-40, the latter is an early automatic grenade launcher. The MK47 MOD0 automatic grenade launcher was developed to replace the original MK19 MOD3 automatic grenade launcher. Compared with the MK19 MOD3, the MK47 MOD0 is more lightweight and reliable. The predecessor of the MK47 MOD0, the CG-40, was developed by Sacco Defence in the late 1980s, and the first prototypes were launched in the mid-1990s. In 1995, the CG-40 was approved by the US Department of Defense for continued research and proposed adoption. Sacco Defence is the weapons manufacturer and systems integrator, with the participation of Raytheon to provide advanced electronic search and fire control equipment.
