ഇറാന്റെ ആണവ പദ്ധതിയെ കുറിച്ച് അമേരിക്കയുമായി ചര്ച്ച നടത്തില്ലെന്ന് ഇറാന്റെ പരമോന്നത നേതാവ് ആയുത്തുള്ള ഖമേനി . ഉപരോധങ്ങള് ഒഴിവാക്കാന് ടെഹ്റാന് യൂറോപ്പുമായി ചര്ച്ച നടത്തുമ്പോള്, ഇത് 'ഒരു ചര്ച്ചയല്ല, മറിച്ച് ഒരു അടിച്ചേല്പ്പിക്കല്' ആണെന്ന് ഇറാന്റെ പരമോന്നത നേതാവ് പറയുന്നു.എന്നാല് ആണവ പദ്ധതി മുന്നോട്ടുകൊണ്ടുപോകാന് തീരുമാനിച്ച ഇറാനുമേല് കടുത്ത സാമ്പത്തിക ഉപരോധം തിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരാന് യുഎന് രക്ഷാസമിതി വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച വോട്ടുചെയ്തു. ബ്രിട്ടന്, ഫ്രാന്സ്, ജര്മനി എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങള് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടതിനെത്തുടര്ന്നാണ് നടപടി.യുഎസ് പ്രസിഡന്റായിരുന്ന ബരാക് ഒബാമ മുന്കൈയെടുത്ത് 2015ല് ഇറാനുമായുണ്ടാക്കിയ ജോയിന്റ് കോംപ്രിഹെന്സീവ് പ്ലാന് ഓഫ് ആക്ഷന് എന്ന ഉടമ്പടിയില് അംഗങ്ങളാണ് ഈ രാജ്യങ്ങള്. ഉടമ്പടി അനുസരിച്ചുള്ള വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങള് ഇറാന് ലംഘിച്ചെന്നാണ് ഇവയുടെ ആരോപണം.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has declared that Tehran will not negotiate with the United States over its nuclear program. While seeking to ease sanctions through talks with Europe, Khamenei described the discussions as “not a negotiation, but a surrender.” Meanwhile, the UN Security Council voted to reimpose strict economic sanctions on Iran, following requests from the UK, France, and Germany, citing Tehran’s continued nuclear activities and alleged violations of the 2015 JCPOA agreement.
