Hike: Silvas to Deer Mountain – July 14–15, 2025
Two-day hike from Silvas trailhead to Deer Mountain trailhead. Passed lower and upper Silvas, camped at Mahoney Peak where I caught some great northern lights and star trails on video. Hit the peaks of John Mountain, Blue Bird, Roy Jones, and Deer Mountain.
About 6,500 feet of elevation gain, 13 hours of hiking, and around 16 miles total. Saw a ton of mountain goats and a few deer. The views and weather couldn’t have been better.
