About me:
I've been a solo mom for over a dozen years now, and have a lovely teenager who brings light and joy to my life. I struggled for many years to overcome the trauma and fallout from a failed and abusive marriage while solo parenting my daughter, but made it through with my relationships and sense of self intact, despite having no family nearby to support me. I'm so aware of how challenging being a mom can be, even under normal circumstances! And I care so much about helping other moms, like you, to maximize joy wherever you are in the journey.
I've always had an obsession with understanding the human condition, and always felt I was somewhat on the outside peering in. So it's no surprise that in my 20's I completed multiple degrees in cultural anthropology - the study of humans. My other obsession has been understanding what makes for a good, fulfilling, joyful human life - for me, for my child, and for you.
Other interesting tidbits about me - I served as a helicopter mechanic in the Army for 6 years and still love building things and working with my hands; I grew up in a small town in the far northern Midwest but now love living in the warmth of the South; my dream day involves endless cups of tea and pastries, a long hike in the woods, time with my child, and curling up in front of the fireplace with a good book and a cat nearby.
