When the Grief Is Heavy, We Sing | Music for Hope and Solidarity

Music as presence, music as courage — a love offering for Minnesota and all who are carrying grief right now.

The grief is heavy.
The hope is immense.
And only in solidarity will we get through this.
This week’s premiere is an offering of love to Minnesota, a place that shaped me deeply during the 14 years I lived there. I showed up with songs and honest reflection — not to fix or explain, but to be present with the pain and to encourage us as we walk forward together.
This is music as presence.
Music as witness.
Music as a place where tears are welcome and courage can be remembered.
I became emotional during this gathering and invited listeners to cry if they needed to — to not be afraid of feeling — because grief and love are not opposites. They belong together. And from that honesty, something strong can rise.
This offering is rooted in the belief that moral clarity, fierce love, and a shared vision for a more beautiful world are not abstract ideas — they are practices we live into together.
We are the ones to create it.
