The conflict in Sudan has worsened an already severe humanitarian crisis, pushing parts of the country into famine.
The World Food Programme says 25 million people – half the population – are going hungry.
An estimated 638-thousand people are facing catastrophic hunger, the highest number globally.
Famine was confirmed in Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur in August It’s home to 410,000 displaced people and has spread to another 10 locations in Darfur and Kordofan. The W-F-P says 17 areas are at risk in the coming months.
It also says 650 million dollars are urgently needed to assist 7 million people in the next six months.
