Here's a look into an operation that hasn't been filmed in quite a few years, the BNSF Kimberly Clark Lead. A small spur extending from the Metrolink Orange Subdivision, it is on paper part of the BNSF San Diego Subdivision, and straddles the cities of Anaheim, Fullerton, and Placentia. Over the years this little industrial lead has lost most of its rail-served customers, where presently only two remain, of which only Future Foam is consistently switched, which is what is seen here today.
I did a chase of the BNSF Second La Mirada Roadswitcher, R-CAL0081, throughout the entirety of this little operation. I started on the Orange Sub, where it shoved in with a BN Caboose leading the way, followed by tanks for the spur, two empty centerbeams from an industry on the Xerox Lead, and the power. They crossed over CP Orangethorpe which controls the beginning of the branch. I then headed to the branch and started off at Acacia Ave, where the RS3L of BNSF 164 and M bells of the crossing made for a great combo! They headed to the small yard on the spur where they set out all of the tanks they brought in except for one using a gravity drop maneuver. They then switched Future Foam for a bit in notch 8! They then shoved home, where I caught them at a few more spots, as well as the curve at the beginning of the spur. They immediately dashed away after they went to the main, so my chase ended there, very successfully. Thanks for watching!
