Freedom Ride for a Belgian Draft horse and Percheron mare. Saved from almost shipping to slaughter

This week we saved a beautiful half blind Percheron mare, 16 hands tall and 16 years old. She looks to have something on her visual eye that could be a tumor possibly. We are going to do everything we can to help this girl and give her a place to retire.

We also rescued a Belgian Draft horse mare at Bowie Texas Livestock. She is 17.3 hands tall and 16 years old. She was used as a trail riding horse and needed a retirement home. From the group that came into Bowie Texas Livestock, she was the last horse in her group that did not get a home…so we gave her one!

Today we picked up both mares from McLean, Texas and brought them home to start their retirement!
