Skiwelt 2022_23 - Hohe Salve descent, Black 42a, Red 43.

From top of Hohe Salve gondola, head out to the right and behind the restaurant building (the North side). This is sigmed for Black 42, but opens out into a number of red options as well that go down towards Hopfgarten. I almost get squeezed over to the Hopfgarten runs at 00:40, but realise I can just about get back to where I was aiming for which was the Black runs down. This starts off as 42 and is pretty steep and icy. The Black 42 heads off to the right at 1:20 (see    • Skiwelt 2022_23 - Hohe Salve Descent, Blac...  ), whereas straight ahead is the Black 42a. This continues to get steeper until 2:05, where the run becomes a linking traverse back round to the Black 42. There is a small linking run coming down from the left at this point which means you can access this from the below the Rigi chair somewhere, not actually noticed where.
The traverse section is basically flat until 2:40 where we appear on the main Black run, you can get a good idea of how steep it is from this view. A lot of the runs on this side of the mountain were quite icy due to them being in the shade. At 3:30 I head over to the right and above the Hexen6er chair to access the Red 43. Keeping on the main downhill run at this point would take you onto Red 45 and down to the fot of the Hexen6er, Rinner and Stockl chairs as well as the Hans im Gluck gondola.
Following the Red 43 allows access to the Hohe Salve gondola, the Keat chair or the return back down to Soll. The first section of this is a long, sloping traverse until 4:20 where we reach the main Red 43. It's a surprisingily long run this, following the line of the gondola for most of it until we end back at it's start.
