A single line to ground fault occurs on a three-phase, 230 kV, 500 MVA transmission line. Use symmetrical components to solve for all current and voltage sequence components.
If: Z2 = Z1 = 5Zo and Zo = 0.241 pu, determine the following:
A) The positive sequence per unit current component (Ia1_pu)
(answer = 0.377 pu)
B) The positive sequence current component in amps (Ia1)
(answer = 473 A)
C) The A line fault current (Isc)
(answer = 1,420 A)
D) The positive sequence voltage component (Va1)
(answer = 72.5kV)
E) The negative sequence voltage component (Va2)
(answer = -60.3kV)
F) The zero sequence voltage component (Va0)
(answer = -12.1kV)
*In the video it is accidentally written as Va3 instead of Va0
G) The A phase voltage during the fault (Va):
(answer = 0V)
