In this tutorial, you will learn how to crochet a lace shamrock motif using Irish crochet techniques where you crochet over a cord and work picot’s around the edging

Cut a cord about two feet long and fold in half. Sl st working thread onto cord.

Work 20dc over the cord, dc into first dc to form a ring. Pull thread to tighten the ring

*Over cord only work 3dc, 1htr, 11tr, 1htr, 3dc (working last of 3dc back through the 1st dc to form a loop. 3ch Turn.

1tr into 3rd dc, (3ch, miss next st, to into next st)x7, 3ch, sl st into 1st dc. Turn.

Into each 3ch sp work 4dc and a picot (3ch, sl st back into last dc) ending with 4dc in last 3ch sp and dc into same space as last dc in the center ring.

Working over cord again and around the center ring, work 1dc into each of next 5dc.**

Repeat from * to **twice more so you have completed three shamrock petals.

Stem: over cord only work 15dc, turn, miss 1st dc and workin back down the stem work 1dc into each of the next 14dc, pull cord. 1dc into each of next five dc and fasten off.
