In this tutorial you will learn how to crochet a traditional Irish Rose Motif. The Irish Rose is a motif from the nineteenth century and one of the easier Irish lace motifs to learn. FREE Pattern Below!
Round 1 - 6ch, sl st into 1st ch
Round 2 - 10dc into the 6ch ring
Round 3 - 1dc into first dc of previous rnd, (3ch, skip 1dc, 1dc into next dc) x 4, 3ch, sl st into 1st dc
Round 4 - Into each 3ch sp work (1dc, 1htr, 3tr, 1htr, 1dc)
Round 5 - (5ch, sl st into the back of the next dc of round 3) x 5
Round 6 - Into each 5ch sp work (1dc, 1htr, 5tr, 1htr, 1dc)
Round 7 - (7ch, sl st into the back of dc from previous row) x 5
Round 8 - Into each 7ch sp work (1dc, 1htr, 7tr, 1htr, 1dc)
Round 9 - (9ch, sl st into the back of dc from previous row) x 5
Round 10 - Into each 9ch sp work (1dc, 1htr, 9tr, 1htr, 1dc)
Continue in this sequence adding extra chains and trebles each round until your flower is as big as you want.
