In October 2024, I spent 8 days hiking nearly 100 kms from Capuliyoc all the way to Machu Picchu. This was my third time hiking to Machu Picchu and this route was by far my favorite. Unfortunately, a lot of popular routes like the Inca and Salkantay trails are now oversaturated and overbuilt with little cabins and shops along the route that you lose that remoteness that is so beautiful. This route through Choquequirao still felt untouched and authentic. Send me a message to know more about the route we chose.
