Programme inédit au croisement du jazz et du chant choral, "Waves of light" rassemble Paul Lay en trio et Les Éléments. Le chœur de chambre à 21 voix, dirigé par Joël Suhubiette, se mêle au trio piano, contrebasse, batterie, sur une partition composée par Paul Lay.
Pour cette création originale autour du thème de la lumière, Paul s'est inspiré de poèmes de Pablo Neruda, Henry David Thoreau, Victor Hugo et Emily Dickinson. Ces pages sont complétées d’œuvres de Bach, Purcell et Ligeti arrangées pour la même formation.

Both from the Béarn region, Paul Lay and Joël Suhubiette, artistic director of the vocal ensemble Les Eléments, share a curiosity for all kinds of music, which they like to bring together in singular projects. Since they met, they have been wanting to confront their worlds and combine them in an original creation.

In this new program, entitled "Waves of light", for which he composed the music on poems by Pablo Neruda, Henry David Thoreau, Victor Hugo and Emily Dickinson, Paul Lay presents several original pieces for choir and jazz trio on the theme of light. These are complemented by arrangements of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Henry Purcell and György Ligeti for choir and jazz trio (Clemens van der Feen on double bass and Donald Kontomanou on drums).
