On Friday March 28th, at 5:06 p.m., officers from Riverside Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Riverside Office and Riverside County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported rollover traffic collision on Van Buren Boulevard and Barton Road. When the first arriving units arrived on scene they found a truck in the center divider with major damage, a tree down as well as a second vehicle a couple hundred feet up the road with damage to the side of the vehicle. The driver of the car that was sideswiped was transported to a local area hospital suffering from unknown injuries. The driver and occupant of the truck were uninjured and were not transported. According to several witnesses, the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rolled several times, went into the center divider and hit a tree, and the second vehicle that was traveling the opposite direction. The collision is under investigation.
