Demo of software-extended real time texture mapping running on the SEGA Saturn videogame system.

The sprite-based video display processor (VDP1) of the target architecture does not support texture coordinates, which causes a couple of modern good-looking effects not being applicable here.
A small and fast real-time software texture mapping library has been written, which can generate new textures whenever the texture coordinates are changed.
Various mapping methods (flat, cube, sphere, experimental environment mapping) and different methods trading speed and quality can be selected at runtime. The texture sampling can be performed on both CPUs, the master and slave. A further speed-up technique is applied, which can balance the workload over several display frames.
