On this special Sunday, the Youths Alive Ministry made a powerful and creative decision—to honour their spiritual father in a way never seen before. They took him back in time, into a vintage old-school edition, celebrating the wisdom, dignity, legacy, and spiritual longevity of the elderly generation.

Clad in authentic old-fashioned attire, Amb. Dr. TR John CW fully embodied the role of a joyful old grandpa, complete with slow movements, playful gestures, and classic mannerisms that had the entire congregation laughing, clapping, and celebrating. Beside him was the iconic vintage bicycle—popularly known as the “Black Mamba”—a symbol of endurance, humility, and the long journeys walked by those who came before us.

From outside the sanctuary, the atmosphere was already electric. The youths, themselves creatively dressed as old men and women, escorted Bishop John CW in a procession filled with ululations, joy, and honour. Alongside the bicycle was a traditional radio cassette, instantly transporting everyone into an era when worship was raw, faith was deep, and God was trusted without question.

As he entered the sanctuary, the moment intensified. A traditional Kikuyu gospel song, commonly sung to honour elderly men and women, filled the house and stirred deep emotions—gratitude, reverence, and respect for generations that laid spiritual foundations.

Then came the moment that completely broke the house.

In a fascinating, hilarious, and heart-warming display, Bishop John CW lifted his wife, Rev. Eva CW, onto the bicycle and rode with her inside the sanctuary. The congregation erupted into uncontrollable joy, laughter, and thunderous applause. It was a rare picture of love, unity, humility, and covenant, releasing joy in a way many had never witnessed in church before.
