I'm in Iten, Kenya at the iconic Home of Champions training at 2400m/8000ft of altitude with Running Trips for a two week Kenya Experience Camp.
In this video I head to the legendary Kenyan fartlek, a workout the locals do every single week whether you're a 1500m athlete all the way up to world class marathoners. Over 150 athletes gathered and listened to coach set the workout for the day.
Today's workout:
3km easy jog warm up
6km of 2 minutes hard, 1 minute easy
3km easy jog cool down
The full workout was 10 x 2 minutes hard, 1 minute easy and then 10 x 1 minute hard, 1 minute easy.
If you have any questions about Kenya or this camp, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you.
Thank you to Running Trips for facilitating my camp out here, if you're interested in their experiences and camps, head over to their website https://www.traininkenya.com and use code LLOYD100 to save £100 off of your next booking.
