SUNNY spells meant thousands of people were able to enjoy Mid Devon Show in its 19th year this weekend.
The agricultural show which regularly brings in crowds of up to 15,000 was the winner of Farmers Guardian's inaugural Show Business competition earlier this year.
It lived up to its reputation of being one of the best one day shows in the country again on Saturday 28 July with main ring entertainment from The Imps Motorcycle Display Team and Jonathan Marshall Falconry.
Elsewhere, Wag from Widecombe Tony Beard introduced a variety of acts at the music and dance pavilion such as Barracuda, Lance & The Silvertones and Mr Showers the clown.
Mr Beard who presents the Sunday Requests show on BBC Radio Devon said: "We have so much local talent here it's wonderful.
"It's come as no surprise that the show was nominated as being one of the best in the country, it's simply tremendous."
The Farming Crisis Network (FCN) was the show charity for 2012. The FCN helps and advises farmers on a range of subjects and this year brought an Olympic flavour to their stand with Tiverton torchbearer Richard Salter bringing his along.
People were able to have their photographs taken with the torch in return for a donation to the charity.
Joanne Jones from the FCN said: "Richard contacted the show and asked if he could come along and support the show charity with his torch so we're very grateful for him coming along.
"We are very honoured and privileged to be this year's show charity, and we're hoping to spread the word on what we do, and how we can help support farmers."
Organisers and volunteers have been preparing for the show since July 2011. Show director Rose Chanin said: "The organisation has gone on for the last twelve months, and I've been on this field every day for the last two weeks.
"The weather has been a worry, and the agricultural community has really suffered this year.
"Once we got out onto this field two weeks ago, we were resolved that the weather could not continue to be so bad, and thankfully the weather has improved to the extent that we're here today."
Show president David Fursdon added: "In a year where so many shows are being cancelled, this was an opportunity for people to show their best stock and to win a prize.
"Farmers have put their best foot forward, the stock looked fantastic and a highlight of the show this year."
The Tiverton People website has been praised for the coverage given to the Mid Devon Show since it was launched in 2009.
Public relations officer Hazell Stella-Cox Tweeted after the show saying: "Lewis does an exceptional Job each year and we are lucky to have his support.
Commenting on the website itself she added: "We are very lucky to see such a high quality collection of photographs as on display here.
"Thank you for your continued support for the Mid Devon Show and the people of Tiverton."
