🌞 Healthy Breakfast Combo – Upma & Badam Milk | Quick & Easy Indian Nashta

Try this South Indian-style Upma served with hot Badam Milk – a combination that’s not only tasty but super wholesome too!
Perfect for busy mornings or a relaxed weekend breakfast.

🧂 Ingredients for Upma:
• Semolina (Rava/Sooji) – ½ cup
• Ghee – 2 tbsp (or refined oil)
• Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
• Dry red chillies – 2
• Curry leaves – a few
• Dry chana dal – 1 tbsp
• Chopped onion – ¼ cup
• Green peas – ¼ cup
• Water – 1¼ cup
• Salt – 1/2 tsp + 1-2 pinch (or to taste)
• Lemon juice – 1 tsp
• Fresh coriander – 1 tbsp
• Optional topping: ghee, besan bhujia, lemon juice

🍽️ Upma – Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Heat ghee, add mustard seeds, dry chillies & curry leaves.
2. Add chana dal and roast lightly.
3. Add onion, sauté till soft.
4. Add green peas and cook slightly.
5. Add rava and roast at low to medium flame until aromatic.(approx 4-5 min)
6. Add water, salt. Mix well.
7. Cook uncovered on medium-high flame till water is absorbed. (Continuous stirring )
8. Fluff and finish with lemon juice .Serve!
✅ Topping Tips: Add a little ghee, some bhujia, and extra lemon for a flavour boost!

• Milk – 2 cups
• Almond-cashew powder – 2–3 tbsp
• Sugar/Honey – 2 tbsp
• Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
• Chopped almonds – for garnish

🔥 Badam Milk – How to Make:
1. Boil milk, add almond-cashew powder.
2. Stir in sugar or sweetener.
3. Add cardamom powder. Simmer for 2–3 mins.
4. Garnish with chopped almonds & serve hot.
