Hey guys, i love the old taste of that composition by Eddie Lang called April Kisses. I think it suits nicely the sound of the 1930's Gibson L-5. I've recorded it already in AS38 on a 1934 L5 16 inches (and i'll possibly try to post a version each time i'll get top play a new example of those great 16 inches L5 on the channel), but this time i did it on the later model, the 1937 Advanced L-5. It will keep the short scale from the 16 inches L-5 prior to 1935, but the size is upscaled to 17 inches, and the bracing patttern is changed, from Parallele (tone bar) to X Braced. I just love the elasticity in the sound those features bring.
I'm playing a 1937 Gibson L-5 strung with bronze strings gauge 12, i'm using a Dunlop gator 0.71mm pick and the sound is captured with a Zoom H1 recorder.
