A walk up the nose of Steel Fell: From the the picturesque village of Grasmere, this walk winds through the single track lanes, past Ghyll Foot, and takes a steady climb along Cotra Breast, with views over the Helvellyn range as you ascend. On reaching the summit, some 553m high, you are greeted with views for miles stretching over Thirlmere.
One of Wainwright's 214, this walk can also take in Helm Crag, Gibson Knott and Calf Crag in a circular walk.
