Many quantities related to entanglement diverge in QFT, but some are finite. One of these quantities is the so-called relative entropy. In this lecture, Prof. Witten explains why relative entropy is well-defined in QFT, by exploiting the Reeh-Schlieder theorem and a mathematical framework called Tomita-Takesaki theory.
